In November of 2018, SFO Museum organized a public call for material pertaining to the life and legacy of Supervisor Harvey Milk. This exhibition features those submissions as well as archival collections at the San Francisco Public Library and the GLBT Historical Society. Submitted images and archival items were formatted and retouched. Then a layout was created to lead the viewer though the important events of Harvey Milk’s remarkable life. Signage, intro panels and image labels were created to engage and inform the viewer. I also arranged print production of exhibitions elements and designed a complementary brochure and poster.

The goal of this projects was to provide guests at the San Francisco International Airport with an comprehensive and accessible guide to the exhibitions and artwork throughout the airport. Vector-based maps were created and a system of icons developed to highlight the SFO Museum’s exhibition spaces and the San Francisco Arts Commission’s extensive art collection in the terminals. Each individual artist, artwork and exhibition space were named in the legend at the bottom of the page. A 6-panel brochure was printed and is available throughout the airport and the map was available online at the airport’s website.

This beautiful exhibition in the International Terminal at SFO showcases the Pearson Collection of contemporary British silver design. Design work included original logotype, brochure, exhibition labels, intro signage, video teaser, and 204 page hard and soft bound catalogs.

Arhoolie Records was founded in 1960 by Chris Strachwitz. He personally recorded and preserved classic blues musicians such as Lightin’ Hopkins and Mance Lipscomb, as well as many important early Country, Cajun, Zydeco, Texas-Mexican border music. In 2016, Strachwitz won the Grammy’s Trustees Award, which parallels a Lifetime Achievement Award. The same year, Ed Littlefield’s Sage Foundation purchased the Arhoolie label and gifted it to Smithsonian Folkways Recordings in order to preserve Strachwitz’s important contributions to the history of American traditional music in perpetuity. Design included type treatment, brochure, duratrans signage and case labels. The goal was to capture the authentic flavor of this important record label in all aspects of exhibition design.

Surfboard shapers are artisans who create surfboards from shaping materials such as foam or wood. By pairing iconic surfboard shapers with select sources of rare wood, Larry Fuller (b. 1954) has assembled a collection of boards that illustrate the progression of surfboard design through a common medium. Fuller crafted his first wooden board from agave and redwood close to three decades ago with surfer-shaper Jim Phillips (b. 1946). Over the next few years, he made connections that established the foundation for a more extensive legacy project. While working for Phillips in Encinitas, California, Fuller was introduced to a host of surfer-shapers including George Downing, Dick “RB” Brewer, Donald Takayama and Renny Yater, all of who contributed designs to the project.

Graphic design for this project included creating the exhibition title type treatment, brochure, poster, signage, labels and back wall graphics. The back wall graphic consisted of two thirty foot long photo-composites created in Photoshop using my original surf photography. These files were then printed on fabric and hung behind the wooden surfboards to bring a sense of surf culture and atmosphere to the exhibition.

This ongoing freelance projects involves creating a series of layouts and illustrations for San Jose State University’s Alumni magazine “Washington Square”. An original vector illustration representing an abstracted and multi-colored hashtag was created to complement the issue’s theme of contemporary, inclusive activism. For an article about the Bay Area housing crisis, an original vector illustration representating this complex, tech industry fueled environment. Clean layout and type hierarchy complemented the illustration style.

Identity, signage and 160-page catalog for exhibition about the history of ink painting in America. Presented jointly by San Francisco State University and the Asian Art Museum.

Connections is a quarterly magazine and program guide for The Peninsula Jewish Community Center in Foster City California. Original vector-based illustrations gave the Winter 2017/18 edition a fresh, vibrant feel to go with the theme "New Opportunities, New Experiences". Layout challenges included 8 pages of article content and a 12 page program guide which lists classes and other other opportunities available to the organization's 10 thousand members.

This a landing page promoting OpenTable's mobile app and UI elements used in the app interface. The project included original illustration, icon creation and extensive UI/UX design elements.

This volume surveys one aspect of a decade of recent programming at San Francisco State University’s Fine Arts Gallery: its focus on Northern California art. Collaboratively organized by faculty, staff and students, these exhibitions feature some of the most interesting contemporary Bay Area artists, and illuminate the themes explored in their work. This 206 page CMYK book that showcases vibrantinstallation and artwork photography from 18 themed contemporary art exhibitions produced at the gallery. Vector-based custom identities are also featured for each exhibition, along with text content describing the exhibition theme and listing the artists featured.

Allegorical Procedures: Bay Area Collage, 1950-Present This show surveys collage practices in the Bay Area, including related practices of decollage, assemblage, photomontage and detournement. For this project, I created an original type treatment identity that captured the exhibition's concept yet remained legible. This identity was then incorporated into designs for posters, postcards and gallery wall signage.

This is an campus-wide group promotional project for the Art Institute of California-San Francisco.The stark corporate hallways of the school were not reflective of the vibrant creative work being done in it's classrooms. This team project utilized branding, typography, and vinyl signage to revitalize the school's environment and culture. An icon was first created for each of the school's programs (Graphic Design, Advertising, Web Design, etc.), then, through brainstorming sessions, keywords were generated from the terminology associated with each program. Diverse type treatments were created for each keyword and these were fit like puzzle pieces into banner compositions that spanned the height of the interior walls. In addition, inspiring quotes were chosen and designed to fit other locations throughout the school. Team designers then carefully installed these type compositions in high impact locations around the campus. This in-depth project revitalized AICA-SF's creative environment and inspired both students and staff.

This is an original identity for an established organic farm and CSA in Watsonville California. The logo mark is based on an original lino-block print created to capture the beautiful location of the farm. The project included applying the new identity to signage for the farms trucks and creating an alternative logo for the CSA packaging.

This is an original design for the T-shirt used for the International Ocean Film Festival. The festival features independent films from all over the world that inspire people to appreciate and care for the ocean by revealing its wonders. The custom typography and and illustrations were carved into a linoleum block and printed. This was then printed by local screen-printers San Franpyscho and distributed to event volunteers and festival guests.

This Series of posters for the Martin Wong Foundation posters showcase the beautiful paintings of this important American artist. They were printed and exhibited on American college campuses to direct students to apply for their scholarship program. 

Mexico: politica y poetica was an exhibition of contemporary Mexican art held at San Francisco State University. This design project included an original Identity for the exhibition that was applied to wall signage, an invitation card, and an 8-panel folding flyer/poster.
